Abstract :
Taking a curve elevated continuous box girder bridge as an engineering example, the dynamic calculating model of the curve elevated continuous box girder bridge is was created using the finite element analysis program ANSYS. The dynamic characteristic of the curve elevated continuous box girder bridge is discussed, and a time history analysis is conducted for the curve elevated continuous box girder bridge subjected to three earthquake waves in the longitudinal and the lateral direction. The internal force, displacement and the time history response of the curved box-girders and bridge pier are obtained and compared with the calculated results of response spectrum method. The results indicate that lower frequency modes of vibration have significant influence on bending and torsion deformation of bridge pier, the results of response spectrum method are the smaller.
