Abstract :
Urban development and environment protection are interdependent. In the global environmental crisis, human development faces severe threat. Landscape design is a main content of urban environment design, and its core is to harmonize the relation between human and the environment. In front of the major topic of environment, landscape design faces severe challenge. In order to realize sustainable development, intensive development mode has been a strategic proposition for landscape design. Oriented on the connotation of intensive landscape design, this paper discusses on realizing intensive landscape design through building compact urban space form, fostering recycling landscape ecosystem as well as sustainable application of landscape technologies and materials. It is advocated that all social departments shall establish a long-term mechanism and shift from extensive development mode to intensive development mode, to realize sustainable global environment and sustainable development of human being.
