Abstract :
A good part of the local research objectives, in the telemanufacturing field, concern the remote monitoring of manufacturing machines. This paper introduces a novel remote monitoring solution that achieves data acquisition and online publishing with Freescale´s Tower System and uses an Android application for remote display of the monitored values. The biggest part of the monitoring system was already developed and only slight modifications of its parts are needed. A FMEA study was conducted in order to eliminate as many possible failure causes as possible before the actual implementation and its results are included as well.
