Abstract :
The author summarizes the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9000 requirements, what the standards are to accomplish, what benefits a company can achieve by adhering to the standards, and what the problems are with these standards. Recommendations are made regarding whether a company should join the ISO 9000 bandwagon. It is concluded that compliance with ISO 9000 will not solve the quality, reliability, or liability problem. The solution will still remain in the hands of company management. However, compliance will be a very good step toward attaining a good quality product
