Abstract :
A partnership was formed between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the State of Kansas to establish the mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center (MAMTC). The alliance intends to assist small manufacturers in Kansas in becoming more globally competitive. The engineering management program at the University of Kansas has formed an alliance with NIST/MAMTC to provide simulation training and consulting services to small industry in the region. The authors describe the organization, management, and structure of the project. Examples of manufacturing problems solved by simulation techniques are provided
