Abstract :
A design is proposed for a 2*2 switching element to be used in the switching fabric of a broadband ISDN switch. Compared to similar designes in the literature, the switching element is more complex in terms of silicon area and pin count but is expected to perform better in terms of throughput and delay. This may be an acceptable tradeoff in the broadband ISDN environment, since throughput and delay are such critical issues.<>
