Abstract
The literature on concurrent engineering is summarized briefly. A 1991 survey of a sample of high-technology firms that was conducted in order to discover what they were actually measuring in the way of cycle times in the functions usually ascribed to concurrent engineering is discussed. Responses to cycle-time questions relating to use with new product development are shown
