Abstract
To solve the problem of the connectivity between heterogeneous networks in-vehicle gateway and the remote supervising management through the wireless IPv4 network. In this paper, we proposed and implemented a tunneling scheme for NAT and CDMA traversal. From the TCP/IP model´s point of view, the scheme based on the virtual network device designed between IP layer and Data link layer in the Linux kernel. All the IPv6 packets to and from local processes will be hooked and rerouted by this device. This technique not only enables IPv6 communication from IPv6 application inside the vehicle to the remote IPv6 endpoint across the IPv4 network stably and effectively but also keeps the NAT intact.
