Abstract
A monolayer of oxide-covered Sn nanoparticles was produced by direct deposition of Sn onto three different solid supported liquid-crystalline phospholipid membranes. The SnOx/Sn nanoparticles were spontaneously encapsulated by the lipid molecules during deposition. After removing the encapsulating lipid molecules by plasma etching, photoluminescence of the SnOx/Sn monolayer deposited on different lipid membranes was compared.
