Abstract
We present here an innovative way for the description of objects in object-oriented interactive multimedia applications, for automatic scene construction and processing. This framework is based on the reactive and adaptive multimedia object (RAMO) model and aims at providing a way to fully describe any object in a multimedia scene, accounting not only for its multimedia related properties and representation, but also for any knowledge and properties it can support, and for any behavioral information concerning it. What we propose to reach this goal is a combination of MPEG-7 DS, semantic descriptions using RDFS or OWL ontologies and behavioral descriptions using RuleML.
