Evaluation of the sealing system and of the electric performance of the distribution lightning arresters

After certifying the unsatisfactory performance of the lightning arresters and identifying the moisture penetration as the main cause, a methodology for the sealing evaluation of such lightning arresters was researched and developed. Moreover, the electric conditions of the lightning arresters in the manufacturing line and in the stocks of concessionaires (new ones) were verified and still those taken out of operation in networks and by operation of the automatic disconnector or internal criteria of the concessionaires (used ones)
