Abstract :
A time-domain analysis based on the vector-potential representation of the electromagnetic field is applied to solve radiation antenna problems. The time-domain vector-potential (TDVP) technique, which has already been applied to the analysis of a variety of transmission-line problem, is now used to compute the parameters of some classical examples of wire and printed-circuit antennas. The results are compared with available analytical solutions or numerical simulations based on the Yee-cell finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) algorithm. The TDVP approach features better numerical efficiency than the commonly used time-domain technique while preserving the same versatility and dispersion errors.
