Abstract :
In this context, we report the availability of a convenient server for the bacterial community prediction of metagenome which can be accessed from http://bioinfo.ustc.edu. cn/softwares/bcp-mg/. This tool predicts the bacterial community according to the enzyme information extracted from the annotation of metagenomic sample or the metabolic network reconstructed from this data. Optional constraints including the metabolic database and the organisms selecting strategy can be set by users to fit their needs. An improved set-covering algorithm was employed to predict a conservative, yet more faithful, community. The predicted community not only covers all the known metabolic functions, but also can be used to discover unknown functions of the metagenomic samples.
