Abstract :
Self-tuning regulators (STR) with online recursive least square (RLS) estimation is a promising adaptive control strategy. In this paper its pure hardware implementation for second order systems using floating-point dedicated and parameterized arithmetic is presented. It combines a system parameter estimator, controller design cirri-it and controller in a single-chip field-programmable logic device (FPLD) implementation. The design is verified with real experiments using a new testbed which includes a suite of tools for rapid system prototyping of STRs.
