Abstract
A comprehensive analysis of the effects of the profile height and the reflection phase angles on the driving-point impedance of dipole antennas is presented. Driving-point impedance of dipole is derived as function of profile height and reflection phase angles. Two interesting conclusions are obtained through numerical analysis: (1) profile height of 0.062λ is a much better choice for low-profile dipole antennas theoretically; (2) the useful range of reflection phase angles is relevant with profile height, which is between ±90° when profile height is 0.062λ. The two conclusions have a good guide function for designing EBG low-profile wire antenna.
