Abstract :
We demonstrate tuning of the plasmonic resonance of silver nanoprisms by coupling to a thin gold film (i.e., through plasmon hybridization). Altering the thickness of dielectric spacer layer between the silver nanoprisms and the gold film is a convenient way to shift the resonant wavelength, and a shift from 610 nm to 850 nm is demonstrated, both with numerical calculations and experiment. This tuning has applications for second harmonic generation, two photon lithography, and spectroscopy.
