  • Abstract
This paper presents a new fast multi-direction three-dimensional (3D) recursive algorithm for 3D volume evaluation from cardiac ultrasound images. The algorithm include four steps, 1st, calibration of the volume of a voxel, 2nd, determination of six seed points from three orthogonal direction of the selected point in interested area, 3rd, multi-direction 3D recursion from the six seed points, 4th, volume computation of the interesting area. The new algorithm is very fast, the experimental results show that our algorithm is effective and the hardware is very cheap compare with the commercial workstations such as Tometec .
