  • Abstract
    In this paper, we report a novel method of electrooptic Q-switching that integrates the laser gain and the Q-switching action within a single Nd:LiTaO3 crystal. The single lasing crystal has been fabricated uniquely to possess two domains of oppositely directed polarization. The Q of the cavity has been controlled electrooptically by exploiting the deflection caused by the boundary of these two oppositely directed domains under an applied electric field
