Abstract :
It is not easy to know the performance of a control system because of the need to obtain its mathematical model, especially for complex systems. A new method, which is known as fuzzy logic is proposed to overcome this. The concept is based on human´s approach. This paper discusses a simulation on its use on induction motor control to obtain good results. Performance indicators which are used as the references are: peak time (Tp), maximum overshoot (Mp), settling time (Ts), and steady state error ( Ess). A fuzzy logic controller that is used in the system has parameters that can be selected to get a good performance. One of these is its membership function. Performance of FLC is influenced by the membership function used. When the membership function is defined by parameter x, y and z, we can obtain a particular ratio of them. By changing the ratio, the best output response of the system can be achieved.
