Abstract
There are two algorithms in the conventional elevator group control system: the minimum long-wait algorithm and the area-based control algorithm. These algorithms are designed to reduce service time (waiting time+riding time) by decreasing waiting time. This article proposes a new elevator group control system which addresses riding time as well as waiting time. This algorithm is denoted, “total fuzzy control system”. Effectiveness of the total fuzzy control systems is thoroughly studied by computer simulation and the results show a better performance in wider traffic condition
