Abstract :
The high current interruption capability has been increased by a factor of two in the same electrode area compared with the existing AMF (axial magnetic field) technology by applying the new vacuum arc control method, SADE (self arc diffusion by electrode). The axial magnetic field profile of the SADE is optimized so as to diffuse the vacuum arc more uniformly. The vacuum interrupters which accommodate the SADE have been adopted to the actual vacuum interrupters in the range of 12.5 kA-63 kA, 7.2 kV-84 kV
