Abstract :
In cluster file system, data distribution and load balancing become increasingly important. This paper presents a high performance run-time active block layout (RABL) mechanism which cans dynamically replicate and optimize the frequently accessed data blocks in the heterogeneous cluster file system. The works in this paper include: (1) presents a dynamic replicating and placing mechanism for the frequent accessed block in cluster file system; (2) presents a file temperature monitor mechanism for the heterogeneous cluster file system without obvious loss of performance. The experiments in paper show that the RABL can effectively improve the performance of the cluster file system.
