Abstract
A recently developed compact finite-difference scheme is applied to 3-D diffusion equations. The relative merit of CPT-ADI is compared with two other computational schemes such as finite-difference SOR and finite difference ADI. The numerical results obtained from these three schemes are compared to known analytical solutions. The primary focus of this study is on vectorization and parallel processing. CPT-ADI is seen to be faster than both FDM-ADI and FDM-SOR
