Abstract
This paper presents a three dimensional fmite element method for determining the electromagnetic field and power dissipation in a general microwave cavity, which may contain lossy, arbitrarily shaped and inhomogeneous materials. The method is verified by analysing a simple case which has a field matching method solution.
