Abstract
The TE21-mode tracking coupler is used in a geostationary satellites auto-tracking and transmitting feed antenna. The paper is based on the coupling wave theory. To counter the negative effects of wall thickness on TE21-mode coupling, the diameter of each hole is re-calculated by the voltage coupling formula of small hole. On the basis of this analysis and numeric simulation, one 8-arm TE21-mode coupler with 20-hole array is designed with this method. A good agreement between theoretical and experimental results confirms the validity and the accuracy of all the system design.
