Abstract :
A new technique for high resolution time measurements in a common stop mode of operation is described. The method is self calibrating, and combines an analog time stretcher circuit with a pipe-lined multiple hit time digitizer. The resulting system is capable of better than 25 picoseconds RMS resolution over a time range of 32 microseconds. Long delay cables to store the pulses during trigger generation (as in common start operation) are not required. Measurements on production circuits are presented
