  • Abstract
    Aiming at the problem of wind farm reactive power compensating and lack of voltage stability under Grid short-circuit failure, the effect of SVG (Static Var Generator) in reducing transmission line losses and improving the voltage stability are studied through MATLAB simulation. Field trials demonstrated that SVG can provide reactive power support in the case of grid short-circuit failure. Simulation and experimental results show that SVG can improve wind farm wind power operating characteristics.
