Abstract :
The explosive growth of the Internet has led to new opportunities for developing and integrating large, data-driven applications such as simulations. The Agent-Based Environment for Linking Simulations (ABELS) framework allows the formation of a dynamic "data and simulation cloud" of independent networked resources. Specifically, ABELS provides run-time matching of data producers and consumers and handles the communication between those resources. This paper presents three scenarios that demonstrate how ABELS can be used with real-world, data-driven applications. Furthermore, it demonstrates the functionality of our system using a hurricane preparedness case study.
