Abstract
A high sensitivity surface plasmon resonance (SPR) configuration based on the phase retardation between the p and s polarization is proposed. The new configuration can achieve as high sensitivity as the phase detection approach by utilizing the intensity detection method. Experimental result shows the feasibility of this new configuration.
