Abstract :
It is generally accepted that there are some problems in the aspect of efficiency and fairness in the examination of traditional harmonics teaching method. With the respect to handle these problems, we utilized MIDI technology into chord analysis and developed harmonics aided instruction system - HAIS. In this paper, we first present a calculable chord model based upon MIDI protocol and an evaluation logic based on special weighted directed graph, and then we unfold HAIS system with interrelated experiments. The results indicate that users can acquire the information accurately, effectively and rapidly about how well they did in learning chord composition and connection. And these results are based on the approach to digitalizing keyboard harmony provided in the paper.
