Abstract
In this work, a gas-filled 1D elastic photonic crystal, sensitive to the external pressure and temperature, is considered as an optical indicator. Due to the well expressed identity of the bandgap structure behaviour an opportunity arises to unite several scales of pressure or temperature which may be organized on the same substrate. A general conception of scales echeloning based on sequential connection of scales during the measurement process is proposed. The scales echeloning for precise indication of pressure and temperature on the base of pneumatic photonic crystals is discussed. An eight digit accuracy measurement procedure based on a strip gas-filled photonic crystal for three laser wavelengths 0.488 μm, 0.694 μm and 1.065 μm is described.
