  • Abstract
Partial discharge (PD) characteristics in air and argon under low pressure (0.1-760 Torr) and 60 Hz AC energization are described for an energized needle -grounded plane electrode arrangement. The paper focuses on PD tests conducted, and the significance of the test results on the requirements related to commercially available PD detection equipment
