  • Abstract
The existing disadvantage of traditional permeability test apparatus in determining the permeability of high water content and large void ratio dredged fill is overcome by GDS consolidation test apparatus, which can directly measures permeability coefficient after consolidation tests under different consolidation pressures. Laboratory permeability tests are performed on dredged fill of high water content from 110 percent to 150 percent in the Qianwan area Shenzhen by GDS consolidation test systems, the results are shown as follows: the seepage of dredged fill samples is approximately according to the Darcy\´s law under permeability pressure difference. After a certain consolidation pressure from 15kPa to 400kPa, permeability coefficient of dredged fill samples varied from 0.06×10-7cm/s to 6.55xl0"7cm/s, the variation of which is three orders of magnitude, and the nonlinear power function relationship of permeability coefficient-void ratio is shown. GDS consolidation test systems will provide a new means for the study on the permeability and determining permeability parameters of dredged fill, and the research achievements in this test will provide a theoretical basis for determining nonlinear relationship of permeability coefficient-void ratio and the parameters for finite-strain consolidation behaviors numerical analysis of dredged fill.
