  • Abstract
    Acoustical properties of a porcine eye lens are investigated at high frequencies (10 to 24 MHz). The obtained values are used to perform a beamforming (BF) method dedicated to post lens imaging through a linear ultrasound (US) scanning using an US research scanner developed in our laboratory called the ECODERM. The probe consists of a 128 elements linear array working at 20 MHz. The performances of the developed BF method are compared with those of a classical BF having the same linear scanning. The comparison quantifies both axial and lateral resolution, image contrast, and the spatial mislocalization induced by lens.
