Abstract
We design focused ultrasound transmitters based on optoacoustic generation. Focused ultrasound is generated from a thin layer of light-absorbing source which is excited by pulsed laser beam. When compared to piezoelectric transducer, our new approach has advantages of high frequency generation and high geometrical gain. Material and geometrical considerations are discussed.
