  • Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical-experimental study, regarding the influence of the resistive and inductive effects of transients on systems of extensive electric grounding, in particular, of cables and meshes. PI-RL models are proposed that take into account the distributed nature of the resistance and inductance magnitudes. The capacitive effect and the ionization of the soil are not considered. Besides, there is an alternative to model grounding systems in transitory conditions, that is the technique of “system identification”. Simulations are made of the excitations using a current waveform representative of an atmospheric discharge. A method of evaluation of the grounding is delineated in conditions of lightning current
