Abstract
This paper shows the interest in the numerical simulation method in the study of degradation regimes in power electronic systems. This method permits the prediction of limiting failures of systems installed in an electric vehicle. A case study is presented, it treats the accidental failures occurring in an inverter supply of an induction machine. The evolution of different sizes of system and commutation topologies are presented. The utilisation of Powerblockset of the new version of Matlab-Simulink reveals the large possibilities in the analysis of evolution of failures and the signals
