  • Abstract
In this paper, a novel scheme to drive high luminance FEDs (field emission displays) with carbon nanotubes (CNT) has been proposed. Compared with the conventional driving scheme using a continuous high voltage DC power supply, the proposed scheme is employed pulsed power supply. In order to realize the high voltage pulsed power supply, an advanced series operation method of IGBTs is developed and implemented. With the pulsed power supply, FEDs can have superiors advantages, high energy saving and long life-time. The theoretical explanation will be explained in detail and informative experimental results will be provided in order to verify the validity of the proposed scheme
