  • Abstract
Recent advances in the fields of analog fiber optic telemetry and high sample rate/wide bandwidth analog to digital conversion have enabled the development of state-of-the art instrumentation for pulsed power applications. The Electromagnetic and Solid State Technologies Division (Code B20) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) has developed analog fiber-optic telemetry systems capable of operating from DC to 1 kHz and 50 kHz to 6 GHz. Additionally, with the support of the Test and Evaluation/Science and Technology Program, Code B20 is currently developing a 4 GS/s, 1.5 GHz analog bandwidth compact remote digitizer. All systems are heavily shielded to allow measurements to be made in regions of extremely high field strengths up to 200 kV/m. Connection with external instrumentation and control systems is by fiber-optic cabling, providing completely isolated measurements. Detailed descriptions of each system are included and performance data are provided
