Abstract
A simple model of three species (electrons, O2+ , O2-) has been used to study the corona discharge in oxygen at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. Ionization of oxygen molecules by electron impact and attachment of electrons to oxygen molecules are considered, besides secondary emission at the electrode. The densities of the species have been computed as a function of the radial distance to the wire using as input the values of the current intensity and applied voltage in a corona discharge
