Multi-span continuous skew girder bridges have complicate mechanical performance under service loadings and need to conduct three-dimension analysis of internal force and deformation. Considering the loading type is simple for construction simulation of girder bridges, the appropriate computing method is deserved to be investigated. In this article, both the grillage model and beam element model are applied into the construction simulation calculation and analysis of a four-span continuous skew girder bridge using the finite element method, According to the simulation and corresponding results, it is appropriate to use the relative simple beam element model to analyze the camber, a construction control parameter which embody the whole mechanical property, which still have a ideal computational precision, While for the internal forces or stress-control index, another construction control parameter, grillage model is more suitable for a good accuracy which can reflect the local mechanical performance of a skew girder bridge. The analysis results could provide the references for the construction control calculation of the continuous skew girder bridges.
