Abstract :
Superconductivity research and development within CSIRO was initially fostered by the needs of metrology. CSIRO´s frontier work in superconductor-based metrology resulted in an early application of the ac Josephson Effect for determining the “working” volt and the invention of the cryogenic current comparator.
