  • Abstract
As renewable energy and green technologies, such as wind power generation, and electric vehicles, draw more and more attention in industries and academic, electrical machines are becoming a core to many technologies, i.e. direct-drive wind generators, motors in an electric car. Machine torque or power density is getting more and more critical, many people use it as a key to judge if an electrical machine is suitable for an applications. Meanwhile, high material price, such as permanent magnet, copper, and iron, provides another reason to improve machine torque density - reduce material cost. Therefore, the electric machines with high torque density are strongly desired to almost all industry areas.
