A training simulator for network management systems

CEGELEC plc. at Rugby, UK, last year completed training simulator and operator load flow/fault analysis software as part of the advanced applications for a prototype network management SCADA system supplied to Midlands Electricity plc. This colloquium paper describes the background of the design, supply and implementation of this low cost load flow driven real-time simulator with full alarm and control interface to the SCADA system.
