Abstract :
The connection of private generators to the electricity grid is a common practice and is well understood both as regards the technical and the commercial aspects. Although many of the problems are shared with other technologies, the use of photovoltaic (PV) generators introduces some new problems. These arise from the nature of the PV source and the anticipation of the widespread introduction of relatively small generators. This presentation provides an overview of the technology and regulations concerning the grid connection of PV systems. It also refers to foreign experience and the problems which still need to be considered before widespread implementation occurs
