Abstract
Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) is the principal provider of electricity in Mexico, which is located in one of six regions in the world subject to intense tropical storms. Since it is not economically feasible to design power transmission lines to withstand the extreme loadings that these storms bring, CFE has developed a plan of action for rapid restoration. This paper gives an overview of this plan as well as a recent example of its implementation
