  • Abstract
    The bursty error prone channels remain as a big threat to the mobile video communications. This paper proposes a method, motion vector sharing and residual garbaging, by which every macroblock of the frame is paired with another macroblock and information is shared between them. The proposed algorithm equalizes the quality contribution of every macroblock to the overall frame quality. The method gives similar performance in handling bursty errors in source coding domain without interleaving compared to channel coding domain (with interleaving and increase in bitrate).
