Abstract :
This paper attempts to sort out the various fuse classes, as well as focus in on present-day IEC motor starter protection requirements. Details of selecting proper overcurrent protection for IEC devices is presented. Reference is made to the National Electrical Code with respect to IEC and NEMA starters. Short circuit testing is also discussed
