Abstract :
In this paper, a software-reconfigurable transmitter architecture for 3G systems is presented Embedded digital signal pre-processing module is used in order to boost the linear power of the transmitter along with its power efficiency. Concurrent digital implementation of I/Q vector modulation and base-band predistortion when applied to 100 watts peak power transmitter led to a 2 dB raise of the linear output power while meeting the 3GPP standard requirements in terms of adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) and error vector magnitude (EVM).
