Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. An approach is presented to constructing connectionist artificial intelligence systems: a structured neural network ( mu BRAIN) for building intelligent systems. The mu BRAIN has a computer-like structure and consists of several neural networks. It can be expanded uniformly by nesting mu BRAINs to enhance its capability. Intelligent systems are constructed of mu BRAINs. A simple production system built of mu BRAINs is introduced as an example.<>
